The ground floor "Houses" at BCS Shalom cater for people living with high care dementia needs. 

Each house has its own spacious lounge and dining rooms, leading to private and secure landscaped gardens.  A sunroom at the end of each house provides an alternative lounge, which also has access to the garden thus allowing for a safe and secure walking track through the facility.

All clients are accommodated in single rooms all with their own ensuites.

BCS is recognised as an innovative leader in dementia care and we are striving constantly to set new care standards and approaches, so that people living with dementia are cared for with the respect and dignity they deserve.

The design and purpose of the Dementia Care Houses at BCS Shalom encourage clients to maintain control of their daily activities for as long as possible.  Support in personal and nursing care is provided on an individual basis.  In order to provide care to each individual we have planned our houses in a staged approach in relation to the progression of a person's dementia.

Clients are encouraged to participate in daily activities, such as preparing meals, setting tables and other meaningful activities.  The clients are supported by staff in these activities, which also provides for a positive interaction between staff and clients.
